Freedom...It is a powerful word, but what is it?

Freedom is what our forefathers sought in coming to this new land. It is what our country's founders wanted to nurture and protect through the documents that were drafted at the birth of this nation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,
(from the Declaration of Independence)

It is something our soldiers have died protecting. Some have given their lives to bring freedom to people who have never known it in foreign lands.

America is in need of an even greater freedom. The greatest definition of freedom is found in the Bible. We cannot know real personal freedom without Jesus Christ.

John 8:36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. NKJV

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." NKJV

As we look around here in America, we have a sense that somebody should do something. The hour is clearly getting late, but who should do it? What should they do?

In verse 14 of 2 Chronicles 7 we read: f My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. NKJV

Friend, I propose that it is us, you and me. Starting right now.
